What is it and what symptoms does it cause?

How is it diagnosed?

Diagnosis is made through clinical examination and cervical MRI, which identifies the herniation and its relationship with neural structures. Neurological assessment is key to detecting motor or sensory deficits.

How is it treated?

Initially, conservative treatment is recommended with medication, physiotherapy, and postural measures. If symptoms persist or worsen, surgery is considered, usually cervical discectomy. This may include placement of a disc prosthesis or spinal fusion to maintain stability.
